Sho Chiku Bai is a Japanese phrase that literally translates to “pine, bamboo, and plum.” Together, these elements form the “Three Friends of Winter,” symbolizing promise and good fortune—resilience in the plum, longevity in the pine, and flexibility in the bamboo.

Through illustration and iteration, the composition was refined to balance these qualities, expressing resilience and harmony in a wearable design rooted in the same meaning.
